Minutes after the first acceptance letter was opened, a Facebook group was created, uniting the cherubs-to-be even before the summer began.

Before coming to NHSI Journalism Division, cherubs debated on going to a different program for the summer. However, they came to the conclusion that Northwestern was going to be a much more rewarding experience.

Cherub connections

While there were 88 distinct cherubs, only 80 schools were represented with some coming with two staff members from their high school paper. Their friendships evolved and the net effect on their papers next year is incalculable.
